One of the things that I love about being a wedding photographer and my couples is getting to be along for the journey. Your photographer usually comes on board right after you choose your date and venue, and that means that often I get to meet with my brides for the first time a year out from there date. This was the case with Aly. For the rest of the year, I love watching the excitement build, pieces come together, and help when possible. Aly and I had the chance to do a sweet, sweet session together with her daughter Jordyn in the spring blooms, and by the time the big day for Derek and Aly I was so excited for these two to embark on the next step in their journey!
Meadow Creek Lodge is an awesome wedding venue nestled into the colorado rocky mountains, but just beyond Conifer up 285 which means it’s not a crazy drive from Denver. It’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and Derek & Aly’s day was beautifully set in the Aspen meadow for their ceremony. Aly has an eye for detail, and things were very carefully attended to. She made all of her own deserts, for one! There were wonderful touches throughout their day, and one of my favorites was that Derek & Aly had their vows framed to hang in their home and read them from the frames. Derek also said vows to Jordyn, and she joined into their first dance. To say that there is love is a very true statement.
Derek & Aly, I’m so glad I got to be a part of your beautiful day, and watch you two become one. Congrats!!!
