Joey & Nikki rock my world. When Nikki reached out to me and we started talking about their day, I kept getting more and more excited. And as I got to know them through their engagement session, I found myself with such a feeling of deep excitement. But perhaps that’s one of the best words to describe Joey & Nikki’s relationship. Deep. They have been together for almost 10 years, and when you live through life like that together it creates quite a bit of depth. As I stepped into the building to find Nikki on their big day, it was the same anticipation being met as a long waited victory. These two were becoming one in marriage, and it was going to be one heck of a celebration!!!
A fellow Colorado Wedding Photographer and I were talking this season about how it’s less about only shooting in ideal locations (anyone who knows me knows my happy place is pretty much anywhere in the mountains), but instead it’s more about photographing the right people. And that can happen in ANY location. Joey & Nikki are a fantastic example of this. They are also mountain people. Their mountain engagement photography session was a blast! Yet, their wedding was at a lovely old church in Denver, and we got to use the campus that they met on (DU) for wedding photography. Their locations brought a wonderful variety and spice of life in creative wedding photography that was a breath of fresh air to me. What made it most wonderful, though, was them. I wouldn’t trade our time together for anything.
Joey & Nikki, Thank you for honoring me with the joy of photographing your wedding…and CONGRATS!!
