Paul & Mariah are absolute troopers. I have to start there! They got up at before the crack of dawn to meet me for their session, and that was right after Paul had made a late flight into Colorado from Oklahoma the night before. We all showed up to Horsetooth’s Rotary park before the rise of the sun, and they had smiles on their faces. Let me tell you a little bit more about them!
They met while attending college at CSU. A local ministry they both attended had/has a tight knit group that they both became a part of. The tandem bike that you’ll see in their images not only is cool as a stand alone, but it’s also a part of their love story! Paul bought the bike on Craig’s list to start biking to class with his friend Garrett. (Garrett married his lady, Kelsi this summer and I had the joy of photographing their wedding. That’s how Paul & Mariah found me.) Well, Paul decided to see if Mariah might want to start taking a spin with him in the mornings to class on the bike. After a semester of “commuting” together, he asked her if she wanted to make this an official thing, being a couple. It’s pretty much as fun as it gets in my opinion!
Once they marry, these two will be off on their first married adventure of military life. Paul is a US Air force fighter pilot, and Mariah will be moving to join him. They are both serving their country, and wanted to be able to reflect that. With the greatest care, Paul brought a flag he had received after it flew over our nation’s capital. It was beautiful to watch the care they both had for this item that represents so much in their lives.
Engagement session at Horsetooth and Old town Fort Collins? With these two, I heartily say “YES” anytime!
