Elegant Love at Brookside Gardens…in the Rain? You bet!

April & Landon are some of the most kind people you’ll meet. They are centered on God, each other, and the people around them. Sounds like a recipe for an awesome Brookside Gardens wedding if you ask me, and that’s exactly what it was. This day HAD to have rain make an appearance, to throw one thing to keep us on our toes. The best part is, it ended up making many of the photos better with the gorgeous clouds it gave us at sunset. As a Colorado wedding photographer, you know that there is always a chance of an afternoon shower. Usually they are over by 4:30 and don’t interrupt a ceremony. This time though…the ceremony had just ended and we had just started family photos when the sky opened up. After we got people into a dry spot from the deluge, Brookside Gardens totally served us by allowing us to use the salon relaxation room to finish family portraits. While that’s a bit of a tight spot to work it, everyone was awesome…and like I said. The light for Bride and Groom portraits was stunning. I am SO glad that these people, who are so loving, got that beautiful gift at the end. Tell me if you agree after you see these photos-be sure to get to those portraits at the end. It’s worth it!

A few special notes…Both Landon & April’s families are very close. This wedding had so much love poured into for this couple! All of the intricate and amazing details (too many to post all here) were hand made for this day. Even the get away car was a show of the relationship between this family. The care behind everything made it extra special to photograph.

April and her dad are very close… his 1st look was important. I loved that he was unafraid of showing affection to his daughter.

Are you crying yet?

Alex is one of April’s oldest friends, and matron of honor. When you grow up with someone, moments like this are even deeper.

Kyla is the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! I really struggled to remember her name for the first part of the day, which was hard as I wanted to be able to address her correctly. She is such a sweetie!

ALL of these details were hand made by family. ALL of them. Can I get a “Wow”?

After the rain finally let up a good hour later we got some bridal party shots. The light was already turning perfect for April & Landon’s portraits.

For the goodbyes, they had pop guns for everyone. Landon shoots competitively, and April is a good shot as well I’m told…so this was perfect!

The last photo of the blog is Amanda’s! I’ve been working on a particular technique this summer for working in low light. I got to share it with her at the beginning of the reception, and she took off with it. As you can see, she rocked it!
